Lezioni

Lezioni is a five-day performance specifically conceived for the context in which it takes place. The intervention consists of a series of yoga classes led by Carolina Fanti and open to the public that reconstitutes themselves each day in new forms and in different areas. The yoga class is the basic structure that is dismantled and recomposed through the intrusion of the poetic text performed aloud by the artist, to which is added, finally, an informal discussion with Allison Grimaldi Donahue, Elena Radice and Costanza Candeloro.

Sessions are open, without registration.

Just 1 poem

Just 1 poem, a video installation that will move day by day among the natures of the Reno bank, is part of an interdisciplinary project by Eleonora Luccarini related to writing as a performative practice, entirely structured on Léonard Santé’s identity, poet and alter ego of the artist. Melancholia by Lars Von Trier is the main theme of this work, performed by Léonard Santé’s CGI character. The poem is included in the collection Léonard Santé, 13 poems and it was presented for the first time through a reading-performance. Just 1 poem is the preview of 4 hooves don’t leave footprints, a CGI video work about Santé’s latest poems.

Eleonora Luccarini lives and works between Bologna and Berlin. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and at Università IUAV di Venezia. She recently participated in the residency project Nuovo Forno del Pane at MAMbo – Museo d’Arte Moderna di Bologna. She has exhibited at Quadriennale di Roma (2020), OGR Torino (2020), Cripta747, Torino (2020), Anonima Kunsthalle, Varese (2018) and LOCALEDUE, Bologna (2017). In 2019 she was selected among the participants of the summer school School of Expressions at PLATO in Ostrava (CZ). Her artistic research focuses on the performative potential of language, observing it as an instrument of revolution and transformation. Reflecting on the metamorphic capacity of poetry, she proposes continuous intersections between the written word and other media such as performance, sculpture and video. The artistic production focuses on the theme of identity, conceived as a nomadic and transitory entity to be freely observed.

Carolina Fanti, contemporary dancer and performer, lives in Berlin. She studies and works in Austria, Italy, Belgium and Germany. After visual studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, she began to explore the proper distance between the performing and dancing body. Over the course of ten years she has developed her research through improvisation, the exploration of oriental body disciplines and the practice of dream working. She is a certified Yoga teacher (300RYT) and Meridian Therapist at Science of Self. Since 2012 she performs in the Collettivo Cinetico company and is currently working on her new choreographic project Tank/s.

Costanza Candeloro, visual artist, works between Italy and Switzerland. She graduated from HEAD, Haute école d’art et de design in Geneva. Her practice generates a direct hybridization of text-based works through a subjective redefinition of what writing means. In 2021 she inaugurated the exhibition Devoured Spaces at Tunnel Tunnel in Lausanne. Recently, she also participated in Retrofuturo at MACRO Museum of Contemporary Art Rome, STATE OF MIND at the Swiss Institute of Milan, H or Audience at FRI ART, Kunsthalle Fribourg and created the online project Life-Edit for the Fondazione Prada, Milan.

Elena Radice lives, works and practices in Milano. Her actions cut across different media, and are led by a strong interest towards open and dialogical aesthetic forms, greatly influenced by the dynamics produced by attentional economy and the Internet. The relationship with the space, either considered as an abstract or as a geographical concept, is pivotal for her creative process. The space informs and gets informed by her work: videos become portals and sound becomes a presence that travels through distances. During the last years Elena Radice has been teaching, building furniture, and shooting other’s artworks.

Allison Grimaldi Donahue is an american poet, writer and translator, living in Bologna, Italy. She’s author of Body to Mineral (Publication Studio Vancouver, 2016) and On Endings (Delere Press, 2019). Interdisciplinarity is the founding basis of her writing, which becomes experimentalism of the word, of the body of the word, experience of form. She has appeared in Another Gaze, Prairie Schooner, Los Angeles Review of Books, Brooklyn Rail, BOMB, FlashArt, Nero and other magazines. She has given performances at Gavin Brown in Rome and Hyper Maremma. She has been writer in residence at the New York Center for Book Arts and at the Bread Loaf Conference, as well as an artist in residence at Mass MoCA and MAMbo, Bologna. Her translation of Autoritratto by Carla Lonzi will be published in 2021 by Divided Publishing. https://allisongrimaldidonahue.com
