For this tenth edition, Live Arts Week takes place in an unprecedented dimension. It settles in the open field and without infrastructures along the banks of the Reno river in the outskirts of Bologna, resting on the sediments between reeds, meadows, savannah and suburban scrub.

Nine days are not a time to fill but a space to expand. More than a calendar of events, Live Arts Week X will be a system of attendance, subtraction and aggregation of various intensities, unrelated to the imperative to demonstrate. Flooding and evaporation.

In the inter-kingdom between the old normality and the new regime, Peng X imagines a system of heterogeneous practices concerning the ‘after’, asking himself how to reconstruct the relationship between the gazes, and how the ‘commons’ are redistributed in a space of indistinction. A way to rethink the conditions of being between permanence, dispersion, foundations, overlaps, layers, explosive actions, lines of flight, appointments.

We invite you to visit a region that we are imagining with the complicity of the artists involved. It is a place where to bump, delve, meet, lose track of time (picnic, dejeuner sur l’erbe, sleep, spazieren). The roof of the house is burned and voices are chasing each other over the fields.

Living without getting used to it, defusing oneself of belonging, including clandestinely and disappearing.

Live Arts Week is an event conceived by Xing dedicated to live arts. It hosts a blend of productions that revolve around the presence, performance and perceptual experience of bodies, movements, sounds and visions. Also known as Gianni Peng, it weaves through Bologna with a program of live works (performances, situations, environments and concerts) presented by important personalities in the international and contemporary research scene. Live Arts Week gives space to ‘existential athletics’. It does not put art before the artists, but exposes to forms of sensitivity and ideas, welcomes hybrid and polyglot works, hosts creative singularity.
