Enclave Oracolo
In favor of a rapid recovery of meaning, Isabella Mongelli once more speaks live through oracles, under the auspice of Vaghissimo Mondo, a world in which the methodology of the enigma rules, and where beauty is graceful and mythological. The oracles speak the classic language of the landscape, creating further temporary panoramic visions that at best they translate into possible events. The vitality of the enigma moves from the rampant/pervasive/invasive indecent immobility resting on deaf habits and customs.
Language is the ultimate magical trick.
The performance consists of a personal oracular consultation, that is, one person at a time.
IMPORTANT: to receive the oracle, you must present yourself with a gift and one question. Free access, wait for your turn, if necessary, in the large surrounding waiting area.
Isabella Mongelli, italian performer and visual artist, interested in simple actions inside complex thematic areas, has produced different formats of shows and performances. Her research develops between the super visible and the invisible. Realism alternates with a never symbolic surrealism that favors a sense of estrangement and suspension. Her debut was in 2010, moving between performance and video. In 2012 she started a long-term project about her home-town, Tàranto (distorted in tarànto), a name-concept that states a way of life. Following her own metaphysical and ‘grumpylogical’ vein, she creates performances and miniatures, entertaining her audience and guests with apparitions, collections of anecdotes and divinations. Recent performances include: Splendor Solis and Delphi Situations (2018), Salotto Mongelli (2019) and Dodo Resurrection (2020). She collaborated with anthropologists Michael Taussig and Jasmine Pisapia for Il reincanto della natura at MACRO in Rome (2019). www.isabellamongelli.it
